Mineseeker extends welcome to the Elan Group - The Elan Group, the South
Africa based property developer, have been appointed Corporate Ambassadors to
the Sole of Africa campaign. A substantial pledge which includes holiday and
property giveaways will raise funds and awareness for the Sole of Africa, the
first of these being a “lowest bid-auction’ for a Safari holiday at a premier
game lodge in Zululand, South Africa. “Rehabilitation of the
natural environment is of paramount importance to the group and at the same
time as managing the sensitive balances, we are constantly looking to improve
the lives of local communities surrounding our developments,” said Mark
Taylor, CEO the Elan Group. "The concept of the landmine sweeping, Sole of
Africa Campaign, extends our humanitarian responsibilities to our African
neighbours such as Mozambique, where South Africa plays such a vital role to
their economy and sustainability". Landmines have infested massive tracts of land which otherwise could be used for valuable life-sustaining agriculture. In addition to this, families and homes have been literally torn apart by the ravages of war. The Sole of Africa undertakes to eradicate these landmines and provide prosthetic limbs to the victims, together with feeding schemes and re-establishment programmes within the communities. This partnership between the Sole of Africa and The Elan Group will see worldwide exposure for the South African arm of this association in an attempt to acquire funding that will assist with the objectives of the global non-profit organisation. The Sole of Africa campaign is an initiative of the Mineseeker Foundation which has the backing of several noted patrons, including Sir Richard Branson and Brad Pitt and the campaign has inspired Patron Nelson Mandela to film an impassioned plea to help rid the world of this manmade problem.

Unites to Turn Killing Fields Into Kitchens;
The Sole of Africa and The
Mineseeker Foundation Work to Rid the Planet of Landmines in 10 Years
SANTA
MONICA, Calif., Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ --
There are over 100 million landmines buried beneath the surface of the earth
rendering a quarter of a million square miles of land useless. Worse still, this
invisible hazard kills or maims someone every 20 minutes.
Now
breakthrough ground-penetrating radar technology and an unprecedented
international coalition of business executives, political leaders, civil rights
advocates and Hollywood elite are banding together with The Mineseeker
Foundation to purge the planet of landmines and return the land to agricultural
use in the next 10 to 15 years.
The initiative is called the Sole of Africa Campaign, and the alliance to turn
the killing fields of Mozambique into a kitchen for Africans includes patrons
for The Mineseeker Foundation: former South African President Nelson Mandela;
Queen Noor of Jordan; children's advocate Graca Machel; businessmen Sir Richard
Branson of Virgin Atlantic and John Paul DeJoria of John Paul Mitchell Systems;
and Hollywood actor Brad Pitt.
The Sole of Africa's motto for making a difference in the world is, "It's time
to put your foot down." The American public is being called upon to help rewrite
history and get involved at the sole of

The Mineseeker Foundation will use airships to deploy state of the art
technology created by the British Ministry of Defence to locate landmines. As
the mines are removed, the Sole of Africa Campaign will take the land and form
farming co-operatives. Working in conjunction with humanitarian organisations
such as Feed the Children, The Salvation Army; and educational organisations and
leaders such as The Pacific Institute and Mark Victor Hansen, co-creator of
Chicken Soup for the Soul, the co-operatives will train local citizens to plant
and harvest crops to sell -- providing food for millions and strengthening the
economies of countries formerly unable to use their land.
"Before this new technology," says Mineseeker founder and Chairman Mike
Kendrick, "Current machinery and strategy could only clear 40 square meters per
day. Now, we have the ability to scan the ground at 100 meters per second. What
would have taken 500 years to accomplish can be done in our lifetime. It's time
to act, and we've selected Mozambique as the first country to send out our
airships and then return its land to the people. Then our alliance will move
country by country."
"Mozambique is like a Garden of Eden without food," relates Charlie Gay, USA
executive director of Mineseeker and the Sole of Africa campaign. "The country
was decimated by over 30 years of war. Here is this vast fertile lush land, but
no one can farm it for fear of the mines in the soil. However, with 12 years of
peaceful government, we now have a three-year road map in place which will
result in agricultural sustainability."
The Mineseeker Foundation is a non-profit organisation, endorsed by the United Nations and using technology licensed by the British Ministry of Defence. This technology represents a breakthrough that will revolutionise the international quest to rid the world of landmines.
Mineseeker
will work to detect and map landmines utilising airships and the world’s
foremost, ground penetrating radar system. Mineseeker technology has been tested
in Kosovo under live conditions with spectacular results.
The Mineseeker
Foundation
was established to:
· Promote mine action
· Improve technology in mine action.
· Develop an effective landmine detection system using unique technology, mounted on an airship.
· Provide a significant tool in the humanitarian de-mining effort to provide fast, accurate minefield mapping, allowing conventional de-mining to be concentrated where it is needed.
·
Enable immediate release of the estimated 80% of land currently classified as
mined,
but which in fact contains no
mines or other unexploded ordnance.
· Release wrongly classified land through survey in order to encourage economic growth and stability.
· Support The landmine survivor’s network.
