Mineseeker Strengthens ItsTeam

March 13, 2012

Mineseeker Operations Overseas Ltd, the holding company for the Mineseeker business, based in the British Virgin Islands, has appointed David M. Tait OBE as a Non Executive Director.

David helped write the business plan with Richard Branson for what became Virgin Atlantic Airways and in 1984 he became the fledgling airline’s very first employee. As an executive director and Executive Vice President (based in New York City) David created, grew and led the airline’s US business until 2002. David is credited as being one of the key figures in driving the innovative services and smart edgy marketing which would become the signature of the Virgin brand worldwide.

In 2001 David was awarded an OBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, ”in recognition of his services to British aviation in North America”.

Since leaving Virgin Atlantic David has served as CEO of Avocet Aircraft and Spitfire Aviation as well as running CONSULTAIT, his own consulting firm advising aviation and aerospace clients. He is a published writer and columnist on related subjects, and still works closely with the Virgin Group on a variety of fronts. David is also on the Board of Advisors of Morgan Aircraft, who he introduced to Mineseeker last year, and serves as Chairman of The New Earth Institute, a Vancouver-based non-profit educational company.

Mike Kendrick, Mineseeker CEO stated, “David and I go back a long way and we are delighted that he has agreed to serve on the board.  A highly-regarded executive and entrepreneur, David brings to Mineseeker a deep understanding of international aviation, joint venture companies and senior level negotiations with multinational business.

” Mike and I have worked together on numerous innovative projects at Virgin, but none as exciting or meaningful as his present endeavour with Mineseeker.  I closely followed the conception and launch of the Mineseeker Foundation and the recent launch of the ‘for profit’ Mineseeker Operations. I totally endorse the doctrine of ‘compassionate capitalism’ that is at its core and am hugely excited and honoured to have been invited to join the fray,” commented Tait.

A native of Glasgow Scotland, who has resided in Canada and the USA for the last 35 years, David has triple citizenship – UK, Canadian and US – and lives with his wife (and three of his five children) just outside New York in Connecticut.

Mineseeker Operations Overseas Ltd utilizes a unique multi-spectral imaging radar system in order to provide a highly cost effective and safe solution to mapping minefields, thus saving lives and limbs and allowing the rapid economic restoration of valuable land for farming, infrastructure, and commercial development.
